The Ukraine has begun delivery of grain to Egypt, as several countries have lost their harvests this year due to heavy rains and flooding:
Reported by: Emon CRWE Newswire Middle East correspondent.
The Ukrainian agricultural producers began to supply grain to Egypt, said Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Slauta.
“It turns out there are people who have found a role, and 21 thousand tons of rye headed to Egypt for deliver”, - said the official and stated: “It’s wonderful.”
We note that adverse weather conditions have called into doubt the prospects of harvests in the Ukraine. Projections for the supply of grain was lowered to 40-42 million tons, while in 2009, grain collected was 46 million tons.
Earlier, international experts had drawn attention to the fact that the Ukrainian government has imposed non-tariff barriers to trade, which actually stopped the export of grain from the country, while weakening the international reputation of the Ukraine and reducing its tax revenues
